My Name is Ansa Jawad and I was suffering through a lot of gut issues that no doctor was able to diagnose. I had met multiple gynecologists, Urologist and Endocrinologist and all in vein. Following were my symptoms;

and the list goes on and on. I was unable to find the solution and my symptoms were progressively getting worst.

Finally I reached out to a gastroenterologist, and I was finally able to get some answers. I was diagnosed with Gluten Intolerance/ Celiac disease, and although it came with the relief that I finally knew what I had, I felt depressed when I found out that their is no medicine or procedure to solve the issue. I had to live with it and had to remove gluten from my diet to feel better.

Hence my journey started with looking for Gluten free food in super markets and trying to explore and see where I could get items that will help me cope with the condition. This was the reason to start “Celiac Support Group UAE“, so others like me would not face similar issues.

Then last year my 7 year old son was also diagnosed with Celiac disease and that was heartbreaking for me, It was devastating to see his siblings enjoying food while he is unable to eat the things that he liked, like Pizza or Muffins.

This was my new purpose in life, I had to raise the awareness and also help people like us to find the best options, be it grocery shopping, eating out in a restaurant or having snacks at a coffee shop. The Celiac support group got bigger and bigger and now we have 1000 members on Instagram.

Then in 2022, came the idea of starting Yalla Gluten; a gluten free brand that provides high quality, safe, affordable Gluten free food options to residents of UAE. With Yalla Gluten, we want to help educate the community, Schools, eateries and other social venues about the risk that Celiac or Gluten Intolerant people face on a day to day basis. We also want to try to bring down the cost of Gluten free items to ensure that everyone has access to quality foods without breaking the bank.

Although it is just the start, I strongly believe that together, we can take it to the next level.
